From Rubiães to Valença do Minho
This is the last trail of the Portuguese central Way of St James in Portuguese territory. It’s neither very difficult nor long, and both the path and the landscape are varied.

IGREJA S. PEDRO DE RUBIÃES
The church of S. Pedro de Rubiães is in Rubiães in Paredes de Coura Municipality and it has been a national monument since 1913.

The 17th century Chapel of S. Bento da Porta Aberta stands out for its two imposing flights of steps; it is situated in Cossourado.

It’s a medieval bridge of Roman origin over the Pedreira brook near Paços in Cerdal council.

FORTALEZA DE VALENÇA
The Fortress of Valença is a bulwarked fortress situated on top of two hills in Valença do Minho near Minho River. Although its first walls date back to the 13th century, it was built in the 17th and 18th centuries.
