POI: SANTA MARIA MADALENA CHURCH
The parish Church of Santa Maria Madalena at the entrance of Madalena village by the sea is the biggest temple of Pico Island. It dates from the 16th century probably, but it was subjected to important changes on its facade in the late 19th century; however, it keeps its initial plan in the interior, where the gilt of the presbitery and of the side altars, the narrative Portuguese tiles and its set of images stand out.
