The Aqueduct has been classified as a National Monument due to its imposing arches. It is 19km long and begins at the source of the Divor River; it still brings water into Évora.

    King Manuel’s palace is situated in a beautiful municipal garden of Évora and it is all that is left from the huge palace structure of S. Francisco, Évora’s magnificent Royal Palace where the court lodged and that was built on S. Francisco Convent. King Manuel the 1st, known as “o Venturoso”, gave the monumental set the grandiosity and the architectural beauty it presented.
    The palace went through disasters, several repairs and fires; the restoration of the building in 1943 recovered the palace thus preserving the main parts of the ancient pavilion.
